Obituary: Margaret (Royka) Milheim, 83, of Guilford

A Branford Bank & Trust teller and bookkeeper for DJ King Trucking and Central Fuel Oil, she and her husband enjoyed boating to Block Island

Margaret (Royka) Milheim of Guilford, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Monday June 21, 2021. She was the beloved wife of 61 years to Douglas J. Milheim.

Margaret was born September 5, 1937, in Branford, daughter of the late John and Mary Johnson Royka.

She had worked as a bank teller for the Branford Bank & Trust as well as a bookkeeper for DJ King Trucking and Central Fuel Oil before retiring. She and her husband enjoyed boating, especially their trips to Block Island.

Besides Douglas, she is survived by her daughter, Leslie (Stephen) Consolo of Stony Creek; her grandchildren, Sara Consolo and Stephen Consolo, Jr.; her sisters, Lorraine Hodgens of New Hampshire, Ellen Markleski, Mary Wynne, and Barbara Markesich, all of Branford; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, John and Edward Royka.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Thursday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 9:30 at St. John Bosco Parish in St. Therese Church, 105 Leetes Island Road, Branford. Burial will follow in Branford Center Cemetery.
