Outdoor Dining at Guilford Restaurant Ok’d; Yacht Club Ok’d, Too
Outdoor seating has been approved for Amarone's downtown; meanwhile, plans have been approved for dining also at Guilford Marina

GUILFORD, CT - The Planning and Zoning Commission, at its May meeting, signed off on two new plans for foodies in Guilford. One adds outdoor seating to a current restaurant; a second approved plans for a new restaurant by the water.
First, the PZC gave approval to plans for Amarone, which replaced Carsons on Whitfield near the Guilford Green several months ago, for outdoor seating in front of their location, on the Water Street side.

The commission put only one condition on its approval - no music.
The commission also signed off on plans of the Guilford Yacht Club opening up a “small restaurant” at the location - stating it would be an ideal site for seaside dining.

Economic Development Coordinator Brian McGlone, at the PZC’s January meeting, said he believes “a new restaurant showing the waterfront would be beneficial to the town.”
McGlone added said it could “bring back excitement and allow the public to enjoy the picturesque waterfront views and amenities.
