Sustainable Guilford Task Force Offers Compost Bins, How-To Video

Learn how to compost by watching the "Dive Into Compost" video on the Guilford Town website or GCTV YouTube channel.

Press release from the Town of Guilford:

March 22, 2021

Home composting is one of the most important things you can do to reduce waste in our landfills, mitigate climate change and save money for your family and our Town. In CT, approximately 40 percent of what ends up in our trash is organic material. We throw away more than 500,000 tons of food waste each year that could be composted instead. And that compost is a valuable resource! Using compost in your yard and garden will enrich your soil by adding nutrients, strengthen plants to help resist diseases, help the soil retain moisture, and boost the productivity of your landscape, whether you are growing flowers or food.
