Targeting Distracted Drivers, Police Issue 31 Violations
A 'high-visibility' enforcement effort by conducted last Saturday by the Guilford Police Department's traffic safety unit.

GUILFORD, CT — In the continuing efforts to improve traffic safety, the Guilford Police Traffic Safety Unit conducted a traffic enforcement operation that had more than two dozen drivers cited.
The high-visibility enforcement effort on Feb. 8 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. focused on distracted driving and hazardous moving violations and resulted in 31 motor vehicle violations issued to drivers. Of the traffic stops completed, enforcement ranged from warnings to misdemeanor summons.
In a press release, GPD Sgt. Christopher Massey said that the traffic safety unit "appreciates the positive community response to the traffic safety efforts thus far and looks forward to working with the community to resolve traffic safety issues in the future."
