Update On Guilford Drinking Water $6M Infrastructure Investment
Connecticut Water hopes to complete phases 2B, 3, and 4 this year. Some of the water mains being replaced are more than 100 years old.
GUILFORD, CT —Since 2019, Connecticut Water has been working on $6 million in investments to address aging infrastructure in Guilford. The majority of the funds have been invested to replace water mains, some of which are more than a century old. From the start of the project to its completion this year, over 11,000 feet of water main will be replaced.
The water company says that project phases 2B, 3 and 4 will be completed this year. Phase 1 and part of phase 2 have already been done. See the map below for more information on locations.
Work hours are expected to be Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with an approximate two-week period of night work, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. expected to begin in mid-May. All the hours planned are subject to contractor scheduling and approval by the state Department of Transportation.

Connecticut Water says that any planned necessary service interruptions and other updates related to the night work will be communicated directly to impacted customers at least 48 hours prior to the interruption.
