Watch: Guilford's Virtual Christmas Tree Lighting

GUILFORD, CT — Guilford welcomed the holiday season with its annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, albeit a virtual one.

Sponsored by the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce, the video begins with Laura Clapp performing "I'll Be Home For Christmas" with some light pandemic-related puns, then a chorus of local officials shared holiday greetings and words of "support" and "strength."

"Our spirit is unbroken," First Selectman Matt Hoey said and then the tree was lit.
