The event began after breakfast at the New Britian VFW post 511 that was provided to all who attended:
Many Motorcycle Riders Group attend the event every year. After a free breakfast they ride to the Memorial and meet with the Veterans who are transported there by buses.

They return to the VFW for lunch, entertainment, rewards and there is a 50 -50 raffle, and many raffle prizes.
The proceeds of the Memorial Ride went to the construction of the upcoming Gold Star Families memorial monument in Connecticut. It would be a place for the families of fallen veterans to honor their loved ones.
