Hartford Man Sentenced For Dealing Crack: Feds
Shaun Hawkins has been sentenced for dealing crack while on supervised release.
HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford man has been sentenced to 39 months in prison for dealing crack while on federal supervised release, according to a statement from Leonard C Boyle, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut. Shaun Hawkins, 44, will also serve three years of supervised release.
According to prosecutors, in March 2009, Hawkins was sentenced in Bridgeport federal court to 96 months of imprisonment and three years of supervised release for obstruction of justice. In that case, Hawkins paid a witness not to testify in an ongoing grand jury investigation related to a violent home invasion robbery in Hartford.
Hawkins completed his federal prison sentence in March 2016 and was transferred to state custody to serve a consecutive sentence for robbery and burglary offenses related to the home invasion. He was released from prison in March 2018 and began serving his three-year term of federal supervised release.

In August and September 2019, law enforcement investigators made three controlled purchases of crack cocaine from Hawkins in Hartford.
Hawkins was arrested Sept. 13, 2019. He pleaded guilty in October 2020 to one count of possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of, cocaine base (“crack”).

He is required to report to prison Aug. 6.
