Computer Virus Delays First Day Of School In Hartford

A ransomware virus has resulted in the district pushing back the first day of school.

HARTFORD, CT — Hartford schools delayed opening due to a ransomware virus that hit the district's computers, according to The New Haven Register. There will be no in-person or virtual learning due to the virus which caused an outage of "critical systems."

The virus also affected the system that provides transportation routes to the district's bus company, The Register reported.

The district plans to restart school with a blend of in-person and virtual learning.
