Trumbull Kitchen will reportedly be closed until the spring.
HARTFORD, CT — Trumbull Kitchen of Hartford will close this weekend and not reopen until the spring due to the pandemic, NBC CT reported. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, business has dropped considerably as foot traffic has plummeted downtown.
Some of the restaurant's items will be offered on Max Downtown's tavern menu, according to NBC CT. Workers at Trumbull Kitchen will be offered jobs at other Max Restaurant Group locations . The group operates seven restaurants in the greater Hartford/Springfield, MA area.
The restaurant does not have an exact date for reopening, WFSB reported. However, Max Restaurant Group founder Richard Rosenthal stressed that the restaurant will welcome back customers in the spring "once the pandemic passes and the energy and vitality of downtown Hartford returns."
