East Hartford Webster Bank Branch To Close

HARTFORD, CT — Waterbury-based Webster Bank has announced it will close 27 locations including 16 branches in Connecticut, including the East Hartford location, The Hartford Courant reported. The move comes as the bank reports that more customers are choosing mobile and online services, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March.

The East Hartford location is at 1491 Silver Lane. The closings are expected to be this spring, but no specific date has been announced. It's unclear how many employees will be affect by the closures, according to The Courant.
