Hartford Animal Shelter No Longer at Capacity
Dogs are still available for adoption at the shelter.

BLOOMFIELD, CT - The Hartford Animal Shelter, which had recently reached capacity and was seeking the public's help with adoptions, is no longer full. However, there are still plenty of dogs available for those wishing to adopt.
The shelter located in Bloomfield can only house 22 dogs and after receiving more than a dozen dogs over the past week, the shelter had gone over capacity. WTNH News-8 reported the dogs have a limited amount of time at the shelter as the city pays a daily boarding fee per dog. If the dogs are not adopted soon, they could be euthanized.

The shelter still has plenty of dogs available for adoption. Available dogs can be found on the Hartford Animal Shelter Facebook page. You can also email the shelter or call them at 860-757-4395 to set up an appointment. The shelter is open by appointment only.
However, with the recent media attention the shelter says they are receiving an inordinate amount of emails and ask for patience.
