Hartford Man Sentenced For Dealing Fentanyl, Crack: Feds
Joshua Jenkins was sentenced in a gang-related drug dealing case.
HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford man was sentenced to 21 months in prison for gang-related drug dealing, according to a statement from Leonard C Boyle, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Joshua Jenkins, 28, will also serve three years of supervised release for dealing fentanyl and crack cocaine.
According to prosecutors, in July 2019, after a spate of gun violence in Hartford, the FBI’s Northern Connecticut Gang Task Force, DEA, Hartford Police Department and other law enforcement agencies started an investigation targeting gang-related drug dealing and violence in north Hartford.

Investigators found that much of the gun violence was committed by members of two groups, the DUMOUTS and the Hoodstars.
Between July and September 2019, investigators made three controlled purchases of fentanyl, followed by three controlled purchases of fentanyl and crack, from Jenkins. Prosecutors allege that Jenkins has been a member of the DUMOUTS.

Jenkins was arrested Sept. 13, 2019. He later pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of fentanyl and cocaine base (“crack”).
Jenkins has been detained since January 25, 2021, after he violated the conditions of his release and his bond was revoked.
