Hartford Man Sentenced In Fentanyl Dealing, Gun Case: Feds
Jonathan Torres was sentenced to seven years in prison for dealing fentanyl and possessing a gun illegally.
HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford man has been sentenced to more than 7 years in prison for dealing fentanyl and gun crimes, according to a statement from federal prosecutors. Jonathan Torres, 30, aka "U-Haul" and "Fats," will also serve three years of supervised release.
Torres was released from prison in March 2017 after serving a 70-month sentence for distributing heroin in Hartford. While Torres was on federal supervised release, he was arrested by West Hartford Police in September 2017 for being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
He was arrested by Hartford Police in July 2019 for possessing crack cocaine after he arrived at Hartford Hospital with a gunshot wound to his foot. Prosecutors said Torres dealt fentanyl on six occasions to an undercover officer in December 2019 and January 2020.

Torres was also arrested by Hartford Police in February 2020 after he was found in a possession of a loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol, drugs, and drug paraphernalia.
He also sold fentanyl in March and April 2020.

Torres has been detained since his federal arrest April 16, 2020. In November, he pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of, fentanyl, and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
