Hartford Opens Cooling Centers To Beat The Heat
The City of Hartford has three cooling centers open for residents.

HARTFORD, CT — The City of Hartford has three cooling centers open for residents from Monday – Wednesday this week, and those are listed below. The Hartford Fire Department Special Services Unit is also handing out water to residents throughout the city with the CERT team and the Fire Cadets.
Hartford Cooling Centers open Monday, June 28 – Wednesday, June 30, 2021:
Hartford Public Library, 500 Main Street, 9 AM — 6 PM
North End Senior Center, 80 Coventry Street, 9 AM – 4PM
South End Senior and Wellness Center, 830 Maple Avenue, 9 AM - 3:30PM

Residents are urged to stay indoors during the hottest hours of the day to the extent possible, and to stay hydrated.

- Wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.
- Never leave anyone in a closed, parked vehicle, including pets.
- Visit older adults or others at risk at least twice a day and closely watch them for signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
