Hartford Puts Winter Parking Ban In Effect

HARTFORD, CT — The latest forecast projects a long, heavy snow storm, so we’re calling a parking ban from 12 noon on Monday 2/1/21 until 6 PM on Tuesday 2/2/21 and asking residents to stay off the roads Monday – particularly in the evening.

It may take us a few days to get to all the sidewalks and crosswalks around the city, and we want to remind property owners that they have a responsibility to clear sidewalks in front of their property.

We expect the snow to stop on Tuesday morning and plows will be out working all day on Tuesday, so if you can, wait until your street is plowed to clear your driveway. That way you can avoid having to clear it twice. Please don’t pile the snow back into the street.

Our Blue Light Lots and City lots will be open beginning at 10 PM Sunday 1/31/21, and Hartford Public Schools lots will be open at noon tomorrow, so please comply with the parking ban as soon as possible.

Our warming center at the former Milner School at 104 Vine Street will be open 24-hours until 9 AM next Sunday, February 7th.

City sanitation services will go on as scheduled on Monday, February 1st, but services for the rest of the week will be pushed back one day.
