“What? Oh my gosh thank you. I don’t believe it!” exclaimed Shand when Mario D’Aquila, MBA and Chief Operating Officer of Assisted Living Services, Inc. (ALS), presented her with the giant check for March 2021. After Shand mentioned her niece had previously won, she joked “I’m the teacher and showed her how to do things right.”

Shand has been an exemplary caregiver at ALS for almost five years providing “above and beyond” care for clients of the award-winning homecare agency with locations in Cheshire, Clinton and Fairfield.

D’Aquila notes the fact that members of the same family work for ALS is apropos, given that ALS is family-owned company. Mario’s father, Ron D’Aquila, RN, Co-Founder & CEO, was also part of the ALS team that presented Shand with the award. “There is nothing better than giving back to the employees that exceed their call of duty! We appreciate all that you do,” said D’Aguila.

In addition to a check for $5,000, the monthly Platinum Caregiver Award includes a beautiful crystal statue and a certificate of merit. Watch the presentation at https://youtu.be/t7_O7rrYV74.
