Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Hartford/Tolland County

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the northern part of the state for Wednesday.

HARTFORD/TOLLAND COUNTY — The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties for Wednesday.

The NWS says, "There is a risk of locally heavy rainfall late Wednesday and Wednesday night which may lead to a localized flash flood threat of urban and poor drainage areas."

The rain is expected to move in Wednesday afternoon but will be at its heaviest in the evening hours. There is a chance for thunderstorms too.

Tonight
Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. South wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday
A chance of showers, mainly after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 80. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Wednesday Night
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between midnight and 2am, then a slight chance of showers after 2am. Patchy fog after 10pm. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 65. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
