Severe Thunderstorm Alert For Hartford, Tolland County
The National Weather Service said strong storms are expected soon in northern Connecticut.

HARTFORD/TOLLAND/WINDHAM CT — The National Weather Service said a line of thunderstorms is moving from the south currently and into northern Connecticut soon.
The weather service said at 4 p.m. "radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Monson to 6 miles southwest of Branford. Movement was east at 40 mph. Pea size hail and winds in excess of 30 mph will accompany these storms."

Springfield, Hartford, New Britain, West Hartford, Manchester, East Hartford, Enfield, Southington, Woonsocket, Glastonbury, Newington, Vernon, Windsor, Wethersfield, Mansfield, South Windsor, Farmington, Windham, Plainfield and Smithfield.

"Get indoors when these storms approach. Winds may be strong enough to produce minor damage, such as a few downed branches," the weather service said.
