Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For Hartford County
The National Weather Service is advising residents of a severe thunderstorm and possible damaging winds.

HARTFORD, CT — A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for southwestern Hartford County in northern Connecticut, according to the National Weather Service.
The warning is in effect until 7:45 p.m.
The weather service said a severe thunderstorm was found over Terryville, or near Bristol, around 6:50 p.m. moving east at 15 mph. The hazard includes 60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail, and officials said to expect damage to trees and power lines, according to the weather service.

Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
The National Weather Service in Boston/Norton has also issued the following warning that is in effect until 8 p.m.:
Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northwestern Tolland County in northern Connecticut... Northeastern Hartford County in northern Connecticut... South central Hampshire County in western Massachusetts... Southern Hampden County in western Massachusetts...

At 658 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were clustered over Southwick, or near Westfield, moving east at 15 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.
Locations impacted include... Springfield, Chicopee, Enfield, Westfield, Holyoke, Agawam, West Springfield, Ludlow, Longmeadow, Suffield, East Longmeadow, Ellington, Tolland, Belchertown, Wilbraham, Windsor Locks, Palmer, Stafford, Somers and Granby.
