The weather service has issued a special weather statement for northern sections of the state for Monday.
HARTFORD/TOLLAND/WINDHAM COUNTY, CT — The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for northern sections of the state for some light accumulating snow Monday afternoon.
The snow may be falling during the evening commute, the weather service cautions.
"Light snow will overspread Northern Connecticut and Western- Central Massachusetts this afternoon," the weather service said. "Snow may fall moderate to perhaps briefly heavy for a time, resulting in poor visibility and roads becoming snow covered, especially at elevations above 1000 ft. Snow will accumulate 1 to 3 inches before tapering off between 4 pm and 7 pm. At lower elevations snow accumulations will mainly be confined to non paved surfaces."
