Woman At Home Killed In Drive-By Shooting In Hartford

A 56-year-old woman was killed when someone drove by and fired shots at her home.

HARTFORD, CT — Police are investigating after a 56-year-old woman who was at home cooking was shot and killed Wednesday night, according to WTNH News-8. The shooting occurred around 5 p.m. at 28 Sisson Ave.

Sylvia Cordova was cooking dinner on the home's first floor when someone drove by and fired shots, WTNH News-8 reported. Police officers found gunfire damage to the home along with rifle casings.

Hartford Police Lt. Aaron Boisvert called the incident "very brazen, upsetting," according to NBC-CT.

Police are also investigating a double shooting on Kent Street in which one of the victims was listed in critical condition. Police do not believe the two incidents are related.
