the Chronicle Newspaper Put Up For Sale

The founding family on Tuesday made the announcement that it was seeking a buyer for the Chronicle.

WILLIMANTIC, CT — The Chronicle, the Willimantic-based newspaper that is one of the last family owned news outlets in the state is up for sale.

President and Publisher Patrice Crosbie made the announcement in a brief front-page story on Tuesday. She said the firm of Dirks, Van Essen and Murray has been retained to oversee the sale, she said.

The newspaper has been in the family since 1877.

She said her goal is to keep the Chronicle the community newspaper of record.
