Chronicle Newspaper Sold to Media Company

The sale of the Chronicle newspaper was announced Tuesday.

WILLIMANTIC, CT — The Chronicle newspaper, one of the few remaining family owned daily publications in the state, has been sold to the owners of the New Britain Herald and Bristol Press.

Chronicle President and Publisher Patrice Crosbie made the announcement in a Page 1 story Tuesday.

The price was not disclosed in what Crosbie described as a "preliminary agreement," but the story indicated the newspaper would be run under a holding company, Chronicle Media LLC.
