Connecticut is home to many beautiful and unique gardens. Fifteen historic sites dotted throughout the state with historically significant gardens have joined to form Connecticut’s Historic Gardens. These delightful places offer visitors an opportunity to explore a variety of garden styles and time periods. Laurie Masciandaro, Site Manager of Historic New England’s Roseland Cottage, will introduce us to the history and beauty of these fifteen distinctive historic sites and gardens that have charmed and inspired visitors for a century or more.

Laurie Masciandaro holds a Master’s Degree in American History from the University of Connecticut. Her thesis, “Disdaining the Republic: William Wetmore Story, Expatriate Aristocrat,” reflects her primary interest in ante-bellum history, especially the 19th century expatriate artists’ community in Rome, Italy. She is Historic New England’s Site Manager at Roseland Cottage in Woodstock, Connecticut, where she daily enjoys one of the loveliest historic gardens in the northeast.
Due to the current COVID concerns, this will be a virtual event via Zoom and registration is required. To register, go to our website https://mansfieldct-history.or... and follow the directions. The event is free for MHS members, $5.00 for the general public. Payment can be made online at the time of registration. Donations are also gratefully accepted.
