Coventry Police Officer Accused Of Harassing Girl: Report

A police sergeant is on leave following accusations that he harassed a 15-year-old girl.

COVENTRY, CT — A Coventry police officer has been put on administrative leave due to accusations that he used his position to harass a girl when she was 15, according to The Journal Inquirer. Jennifer Burdette said that her daughter received disturbing Facebook messages from a police sergeant between the years of 2012 and 2013.

Local police have requested the assistance of state police Eastern District Major Crime Squad in investigating the incident.

The sergeant allegedly demanded the girl send inappropriate photographs.
