Crash Closes Part of Route 195 Near UConn

MANSFIELD, CT — A serious crash closed a section of Route 195 Tuesday morning, state trransportation officials and Mansfield fire officials said.

The crash was reported by state transportation officials at about 7:30 a.m. A hour later, the road was still closed by North Eagleville Road and the entrance to the University of Connecticut's north campus, officials said.

Two vehicles were involved and one occupant was trapped inside, fire officials said.

A witness reported that traffic was being redirected down Horsebarn Hill Road.

There was no word on injuries at 9:30 a.m.

At 9:45 fire officials were still urging motorists to use caution in the area.
