Invest In The Power Of Theatre

Now, more than any other point in our lifetime, the arts are crucial to bring us together.

As you are aware, the last year has posed seemingly insurmountable challenges for arts organizations around the globe. The spread of Covid-19 has impacted every aspect of daily life, especially how we connect and interact with one another. Now, more than any other point in our lifetime, the arts are crucial to bring us together, to hear each other’s stories, and to push the boundaries of human creativity and imagination.

As a member of the Connecticut Repertory Theatre family, you may have attended a performance in this fall’s virtual season. Men On Boats and our first radio play It’s A Wonderful Life charted new territory for students, faculty, guest artists and you, our patrons. Despite the obstacles posed by the pandemic the Connecticut Repertory Theatre has pressed on. We have continued to adapt, evolve, and to find a way to thrive in a world that will never be quite the same.

Today, Connecticut Repertory Theatre needs your help. The financial challenges created by the global pandemic has been too much to bear for many theater companies; some have been forced to close temporarily or permanently, but a small handful of theaters across the nation have shown their resilience by entering virtual space.

Today we call on you, our friends, subscribers, and the CRT community at large to make a contribution of any amount. Ticket sales only cover a fraction of production costs. Your support helps defray the added expense of presenting theater online and allows CRT to continue presenting world class theater. Gifts can be made by calling the box office at 860-486-2113, visiting CRT’s website, or by visiting the University of Connecticut Foundation online and designating your contribution to the Patron Fund.

If this is not the right time, we understand that the pandemic has created financial difficulties for an overwhelming number of families. Until we can share live theater with you in person once again, we look forward to seeing you, virtually, at one of our online productions.

With Gratitude,
Tom Kosis & Mike Beasley
Interim Artistic Director & Interim Managing Director
