Mansfield Citizens' Survey Deals With 2 Issues
The new citizens' survey access to local food and preparedness for extreme weather events.

Information via Town of Mansfield
MANSFIELD, CT — The Town of Mansfield is seeking input from residents on two separate issues – access to local food and preparedness for extreme weather events. From July 8, 2019 through July 22, 2019, a survey will be available on the Mansfield website, and at the Community Center, Nash Zimmer Transportation Center, Housing Authority, Library and Senior Center. It should take no more than five minutes to complete. In addition, staff members and volunteers will be making some door-to-door visits during this period. Town employees and volunteers will have name tags identifying themselves for these visits.
The survey is part of Mansfield’s application for Sustainable CT. Sustainable CT is a voluntary certification process where towns are recognized for their ongoing sustainability initiatives. To earn certification, towns are required to meet certain criteria. Actions include receiving feedback from the community, particularly from those who may not be represented in town decisions. According to Town Manager, Derrik Kennedy, “The Town needs to hear from all its residents on two different issues, local food accessibility and preparedness in the face of climate change. Striving to be an equitable and transparent government, the input we receive will help shape the Taste of Mansfield local food campaign and prioritize the Town’s climate assessment.” For more information about SustainableCT, please visit their website at www.sustainablect.org.
