Meet State Senators and Representatives at Legislative Breakfast

Hosted by League of Women Voters of Northeastern Connecticut and the Mansfield Senior Center Association

The public is invited to attend the annual Legislative Breakfast, hosted by the League of Women Voters of Northeastern Connecticut and the Mansfield Senior Center Association on Saturday, January 12th, 2019. The event is at the Mansfield Senior Center, 303 Maple Road, Storrs and doors open at 9:00 AM.

Local legislators have been invited to attend and speak to the audience. They will be discussing issues of concern to the residents of northeastern Connecticut, especially those that will be addressed during the upcoming General Assembly session.

The legislators planning to attend, and the districts they represent, include State Senators Dan Champagne (35th), Mae Flexer (29th), and Cathy Osten (19th) and State House Representatives Tim Ackert (8th), Doug Dubitsky (47th), Robin Green (55th), Gregg Haddad (54th), Susan Johnson (49th), Linda Orange (48th), and Patricia Wilson (53rd). Together, these legislators represent more than 30 cities and towns.

There will be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions of the legislators, but they must be submitted in writing. Questions can be submitted at the event, or in advance by e-mail to lwvnectforum@gmail.com.

The program will begin with the chapter’s brief annual meeting, including a presentation by Luther Weeks, executive director of CTVotersCount. CTVotersCount is dedicated to fairness and confidence in all elections for the voters of Connecticut, and its blog at www.ctvoterscount.org serves as a single news source and archive for Connecticut election integrity news and views.
