New Brewery To Host Grand Opening In Putnam

A new brewery will open this weekend.

PUTNAM, CT — Bear Hands Brewing Company will hold a grand opening for its Downtown Putnam location Saturday at noon. The event will take place at their new location at 75 Main St. in Putnam.

“We are excited and eager to share with the local community and the state of Connecticut our delicious menu of beer, wine and spirits. We are a family owned and operated brewery that started as a passion for good beer over 14 years ago,” Brewer and Co-Owner Justin Trant said in a statement.

Bear Hands Brewing Company is family-owned-and-operated by Kayla and Justin Trant with the help of Ada, 7, and Colin, 3.

The brewing company started with Justin receiving a home brew kit for a birthday present. All it took was one birthday present for him to realize he had a passion and appreciation for beer and the simple ingredients.

Fourteen years and two kids later, the Trants are looking to to "manufacture delicious craft beer and in that the beer and atmosphere will exceed the customers needs and desires at an affordable price."

“We pride ourselves on having a drink for everyone. Over the last fourteen years, we have developed over 80 superb recipes that we are excited to share with the residents of Connecticut and beyond.” said Co-Owner Kayla Trant.
