Plea Entered In Connecticut Gun Sale Case
An eastern Connecticut teen has entered a ple in a statewide gun sale case, authorities said.
NEW HAVEN, CT — A teen being described by federal prosecutors as an eastern Connecticut based gun dealer has entered a plea in a statewide case, authoritiues said.
John H. Durham, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut, said that 18-year-old Willimantric resident Mohammadreza Kamali, who goes by the street name of "Reza," entered a guilty plea Tuesday before U.S. District Judge Janet C. Hall in New Haven to one count of dealing in firearms without a license.
According to court documents and statements made in court, an investigation into Kamali began after law enforcement officials learned that Kamali was "offering to sell firearms to individuals in Connecticut."

In October and November 2018, Kamali sold four AR-15 style firearms, which he had built himself after ordering parts on the internet, to an undercover ATF special agent, Durham said.
Kamali was arrested on Nov. 2 and has been free on a $50,000 bond since Nov. 29, Durham said.
Judge Hall scheduled sentencing for July 9, at which time Kamali faces a maximum prison term of five years.
