Teen Accused Of Stealing Ambulance, Crashing It: Report

The teenager is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond, police said. The incident occurred in Willimantic on Tuesday.

WILLAMANTIC, CT — A teenager is accused of stealing an ambulance Tuesday night and then crashing it before being taken into custody after a foot chase, according to NBC Connecticut.

Jose Trujillo, 18, is facing several charges and was given a $100,000 bond, NBC CT reports.

The ambulance had to be taken out of service, according to reports and the crash happened at Windham Hospital. Trujillo was reportedly at the hospital due to injuries sustained in a crash earlier in the day, NBC CT reports.

He is charged with first-degree larceny, interfering with police, first-degree assault on police, and breach of peace, according to WFSB 3 TV. One officer sustained minor injuries during the incident, WFSB 3 TV reports.
