STORRS, CT — University of Connecticut agriculture experts have posted a warning about caterpillars.

"Unfortunately, if a human touches one of their hairs they receive an awful sting. Look, but don't touch," Gail Kalison Reynolds, UConn Extension Master Gardener Program Coordinator in Middlesex County said after identifying them as Saddleback caterpillars.

A state resident had sent in a picture of them on a tree.
