UConn Bar Temporarily Closes After Employees Test Positive
Two employees at a bar near campus tested positive for coronavirus.
STORRS, CT — A bar popular with University of Connecticut students will close temporarily following positive COVID-19 tests by two employees, according to NBC CT. It's not clear when the bar will reopen.
Ted's Bar wrote the following on Instagram: "Despite our best efforts following enforcing the recommended guidelines, two members of our staff have tested positive for Covid-19. Under an abundance of caution and our ongoing commitment to the health and wellbeing of our staff and guests, we have decided Ted's will temporarily be closed. We are working side by side with the health department throughout the pandemic and remain in direct contact so they can guide us to a safe reopening."
Currently UConn has 34 positive or suspected on-campus COVID-19 cases at the Storrs campus, according to the university's dashboard. Another 104 students have recovered from the virus.

Elmer's Place, a New Britain bar popular with Central Connecticut University students, recently announced it will close for two weeks after it was linked to three positive cases at the university.
