UConn Police, Local Law Enforcement to Conduct Training Exercise in Storrs

The exercise will begin Monday, July 29, and continue through Friday, Aug. 2.

The following is a press release courtesy of the Town of Mansfield on behalf of the UConn Police Department:

The UConn Police Department will be conducting a training exercise on the Depot Campus in the Depot C building starting on Monday, July 29, and running through Friday, Aug. 2. 

Certain areas will be cordoned off around the Depot C building to limit access to people not involved in the training exercise, and there will be a large police presence in the area.

The training is expected to start at 8 a.m. and continue through 6 p.m. each day.

The exercise will consist of drills to help prepare UConn Police personnel and surrounding law enforcement agencies to respond to a simulated "active shooter" incident. The drills are simulated and do not present a safety hazard to the participants or community members.
