UConn Student Injured In Fall From Window

A University of Connecticut student was injured in a fall from a residence hall window on Tuesday.

STORRS, CT — A University of Connecticut student was injured in a fall from a residence hall window on Tuesday night, authorities said.

The accident took place at about 11:30 p.m. at a dorm in the Northwest complex, according to authorities. Initial reports indicated the window was on the third floor. One student was on the ground after a fall and another, also in need of assistance, was inside the building, authorities said.

UConn spokeswoman Stephanie Reitz said the accident is under investigation.

The students were transported to Windham Hospital and the fall victim was moved to Hartford Hospital on Tuesday night, she said.

The student who fell from the window remained in Hartford Hospital Wednesday morning, where he is being evaluated and is stable, she said. The other student was treated overnight at Windham Hospital and was released Wednesday morning.
