Audutions Announced for 'Lend Me A Tenor' by Castle Craig Players

AUDITION DATES: Monday, February 25 & Tuesday, February 26 at 7:00pm at the Almira F. Stephan Memorial Playhouse (59 West Main Street, Meriden).
PERFORMANCE DATES: May 3-18, 2019
No appointments required. Please arrive promptly at 7pm on the evening of your choice. Bring a copy of your resume & headshot (or recent photo), and be prepared to read from the script.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:
(Please note that the ages listed are the “playing” age – not necessarily the age of the actor.)
MAX (20’s-30’s) – Assistant to Saunders. An aspiring opera singer, but low self-confidence. In love with Maggie.
MAGGIE (20’s-30’s) – Daughter of Saunders. Smart and practical. Max’s girlfriend, but longing for an adventurous fling.
SAUNDERS (50’s) – Maggie’s father and General Manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company. He is uptight and has a short fuse.
TITO (30’s-50’s) – A world famous Italian tenor known as Il Stupendo. He loves Maria but finds it hard to resist his adoring female fans.
MARIA (30’s-40’s) – Tito’s wife. A proud, passionate and temperamental woman who is growing weary of her husband’s wandering eye.
BELLHOP (20’s-30’s) – An energetic fan of Tito, he uses the opportunity to get close to the star.
DIANA (30’s-40’s) – A soprano at the Cleveland Grand Opera Company. Sexy and forceful, she hopes to make a connection with Tito and move up to bigger venues.
JULIA (60’s) – Chairman of the Opera Guild. A well-to-do and cultured matronly woman, who is very invested in the Cleveland Grand Opera Company’s performance of Otello.
