PLYMOUTH, CT — After more than eight months on the run, Buddy the Beefalo has been caught.

Buddy the Beefalo is a cross between a bison and domestic cattle. Police have been attempting catch the 1,000-pound animal since Aug. 3, 2020, when he managed to escape from a slaughterhouse in Massachusetts, according to WTNH.

Police said in a Facebook post that capturing Buddy was the "result of a community effort from spotting him, feeding him throughout the winter and to the experts who were able to make the final capture."
