(CIAC)

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A total of 344 senior student-athletes from throughout Connecticut were recognized Sunday at the 36th annual CIAC Scholar Athlete Banquet at the Aqua Turf Club. The Scholar Athlete program recognizes two high school senior student-athletes – one boy and one girl – from each member high school whose academic and athletic careers have been exemplary, whose personal standards and achievement are a model to others, and who possess high levels of integrity, self-discipline and courage. The honorees are chosen by the member schools and are submitted to the CIAC.

Former Major League Baseball player and Connecticut high school standout Adam Greenberg was the keynote speaker. Also recognized at the event was 2018-19 Michael H. Savage Spirit of Sport honoree Alana Bochanis of Westbrook High School.
