Downtown Meriden Bank Branch Will Close: Report
The branch of a national bank will close later this year.
MERIDEN, CT — Wells Fargo will close its 43 E. Main St. branch in downtown Meriden later this year, according to The Record-Journal. Wells Fargo will continue to operate other branches at 55 Centennial Ave., 820 E. Main St. and at 86 N. Main St. in Wallingford.
The downtown branch has eight employees and is scheduled to close Nov. 3, The Record-Journal reported. The move comes as bank customers are moving more toward virtual rather than in-person services.
