Eversource Volunteers Help Beautify Meriden Camp
The outdoor camp will have more than 120 kids attending each week this summer. Volunteers spread mulch, rocks, and cleaned up landscape.

From Eversource Energy: With shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, and even a skid-steer in hand, a group of Eversource volunteers worked to beautify Cuno Camp in Meriden recently before sessions start later this month.
The outdoor day camp, part of the Boys & Girls Club of Meriden, will have more than 120 kids attending each week this summer. Campers from 6 to 13 get to enjoy swimming, kayaking, arts and crafts, sports, and more during their time there.
“We try to make it as beautiful for them and as functional as we can,” said Larry McGoldrick, the Executive Director with the Boys & Girls Club of Meriden. “It would be very hard without the kind of resources that we get from great companies like Eversource and these volunteers who are working very, very hard today."
Volunteers worked to spread mulch and rocks along paths and cleaned up the landscape to prep it for the campers.

For Alex Sardinas, a Distribution Mechanic with Eversource, his experience volunteering at Camp Cuno came full circle from when he was a child.
“I came to camp here as a kid for many summers… it’s tons of fun and one of my good childhood memories,” said Sardinas, a Meriden native. “It’s neat to help out.”
