Former Meriden Man Pleads Guilty To Gun Charge

Jonathan Colon pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm as a felon.

MERIDEN, CT — A former Meriden man pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a firearm by a felon, according to a statement from Leonard C Boyle, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut. Jonathan Colon, 29, was arrested at a hotel in Groton on March 5, 2018, where police said he possessed a Springfield Armory .45 caliber semiautomatic handgun.

Colon’s criminal history includes a state felony conviction for a robbery offense, according to prosecutors.

He is scheduled for sentencing Aug. 10 and faces up to 10 years in prison. Colon is released pending sentencing.
