Lab in Meriden Developing Preventive Ebola Vaccine
The lab was contacted in June to begin work on the vaccine.

Protein Sciences of Meriden is working on developing a vaccine for Ebola, WTNH reports.
Dr. Manon cox told the news channel the lab was developing a protective antigen. The vaccine would not be given to those who have Ebola but would be used as a preventive measure.
The company was contacted by the government to develop the vaccine in June and they hope to begin testing by the end of the year.

Ebola, a non-airborne virus is spread through direct contact with an infected person’s bodily fluids. More than 3,000 people in Africa have died from the virus.
According to the news channel, FDA approval of the virus could take years however an “emergency use authorization” will allow people to take the vaccine.
