Latest Details on Meriden’s Very Rainy Mother's Day Weekend Forecast

MERIDEN, CT — The latest details on the Mother’s Day weekend forecast in Meriden includes lots of rain, but once we get past this weekend, we're finally looking at a nice weather week coming up.

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons wrote, "Lots of clouds and some sunshine today with our temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s. More clouds tonight leading to rain moving in on Saturday. The rain will be moving in very slowly starting around 8 AM western Connecticut and it might take until 3-4 PM eastern Connecticut. Heavy rain Saturday night, ending early on Sunday. Not a washout, but a few scattered showers possible for Mother's Day."

Saturday Night: Rain. Low around 44. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Sunday: Rain likely, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 59. Northwest wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Sunday Night: A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 65.
