Man Shot, Injured In Meriden
A shooting in Meriden over the weekend is under investigation.
MERIDEN, CT — Police are investigating following a shooting Saturday morning. Police received numerous calls of shots fired in the area of South Colony Street and Cooper Street at around 9:50 a.m.
Callers reported that there was a man struck by gunfire. Officers saw a vehicle as they arrived leaving the area at a high rate of speed.
Officers were able to catch up to the vehicle on South Colony Street and Perkins Square. The shooting victim was in the car and being transported to the hospital.

Emergency services responded, began treatment on the victim, and transported him to an area hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg.
Detectives responded and began an investigation at the location of the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
