
Why Was Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) A Civil War Confederate?
Steve Courtney was a journalist for more than thirty years, and was a writer and editor for The Hartford Courant for more than twenty years. He now works at the Mark Twain House & Museum in Hartford as a publicist and guide. On Saturday July 8th At Cedar Hill Cemetery Steve explored the Civil War through the eyes of the famous author Mark Twain, and told the story of Twain's own brief, but complicated, wartime experience, and gave a tour the resting places of Twain’s friends and acquaintances who played significant roles in the war.
