Meriden-Based Parent of Bob's Stores and EMS Files for Bankruptcy
The bankruptcy filing for the two popular stores was official on Sunday.

MERIDEN, CT — The parent company of Bob's Stores and Eastern Mountain Sports filed for bankruptcy on Sunday morning.
The Meriden-based corporate entity for the two stores, Eastern Outfitters LLC, actually entered three distinct Chapter 11 filings in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware — one for each store and a third for the gift cards related to each store.
No store closings were announced. Chapter 11 status allows a company to continue operating while its debts are restructured.
