Meriden Coronavirus Update: Liquor Store Hours Cut
The city has restricted liquor store hours following reports of overcrowding.
MERIDEN, CT — The city has begun restricting liquor store operating hours, The Record-Journal reported. As of Wednesday, liquor stores will only be able to operate from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
Previously, they were allowed to be open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
A city official said that many stores voluntarily restricted hours, leading to overcrowding at the few stores open during those times, according to The Record-Journal.
