Meriden Coronavirus Update: Police To Monitor Parks With Drones
As the number of cases in the city increases, police will monitor city parks and trails to prevent crowding.
MERIDEN, CT — Police and the city are using drone technology to monitor parks and trails in an effort to prevent the spread of coronavirus, according to a Facebook post from Mayor Kevin Scarpati. He said the city expects parks and trails will become more heavily utilized during the warmer and nicer days ahead.
The number of confirmed cases in Meriden stands at 145, with a total of eight deaths. Scarpati said this marks a significant increase.
MidState Medical Center currently has 30 COVID-19 inpatients, 15 of which are in the ICU.
